Leading Canadian Web Companies in Alliance

Two Canadian Web marketing and development leaders announced this week they have aligned to vie for their share of the coming trillion-dollar trade in multinational electronic commerce.

The alliance brings together Ottawa and Toronto-based digIT Interactive, a digital marketing firm, and Nepean, Ontario's Systems Interface, a Web-based systems integrator.

The deal follows a year of results where the firms teamed up to work on Web marketing, intranet, and e-commerce projects for clients such as the Financial Post, Parliament of Canada, and the Canadian International Development Agency.

The companies said the new partnering framework will allow them to deliver a complete solution and pursue larger opportunities for the delivery of Web marketing and e-commerce projects.

Citing well documented examples such as Cisco Systems Inc. and Dell Computer--two companies that are earning millions of dollars a day in their online businesses--senior executives at Systems Interface and digIT assert that North American organizations are ready for a new generation of "market-facing systems" that handle not just marketing and sales, but related functions such as customer support, training, market research, lead tracking, and marketing channel management.

According to Mark Jodoin, digIT's Managing Partner and Vice President of Business Development, the target market for the partnered companies is Toronto and the U.S., in addition to the National Capital Region.
