For at least 2 million online shoppers, there's no longer a need to fear being left high and dry in the event the dot-com world's ongoing shakeout kills off additional eTailers.
San Francisco-based ebates.com, a cash-back shopping portal, today announced it will reimburse members for any charges incurred through the company's retail network in the event that an ordered product does not ship due to the shut-down of a participating retailer. In recent weeks, such online enterprises as Boo.com, Reel.com, ToyTime.com and DEN have folded, in some occasions with little or no warning.
ebates.com is now home to more than 400 online merchants and two million registered users. Members who access the merchants through the ebates.com site get cash back when they shop, with rebates of up to 25 percent on transactions.
"The simple message is that shopping with us is safe, and our members should continue to shop with impunity," says Paul Wasserman, CEO, ebates.com.
