TELUS Inks Agreement With News Providers

TELUS and Alberta, Canada's news providers joined forces recently to expand the reach of current news on the Internet with the convenience of a powerful search engine.

Under the agreement, the Alberta Web sites of the Calgary Herald, the Edmonton Journal and WIC (Western International Communications Ltd.) feature alberta.com's on-line directory search engine. Enhanced search capabilities at the news sites will help customers find the specific information they are seeking.

In turn, TELUS Advertising Services' online directory site, alberta.com, will feature current news from the Herald, Journal, WIC television station ITV, and, in the near future, Calgary 7. The enhanced service will help to keep Albertans informed with news from communities across the country and around the world.

All the partners have been working to ensure that when it comes to finding information about Alberta, their Web sites offer the best source.

This partnership venture is one of many developments related to alberta.com, including the recent addition of online residential listings and free residential e-mail registration.
