New Voice For Digital Copyright Reform

Australia has a new player in the copyright law reform debate with the creation of industry lobby group, the Australian Digital Alliance (ADA).
The ADA formed in response to fears that overprotection of intellectual property rights in Australia will restrict access to information, and restrict creative output.
The Alliance, which combines private and public sector interests, will advise government and other organisations on intellectual property policy in the information economy. It seeks to balance reforms to the Australian Copyright Act with the move toward a digital information society, and head off increasing liability for copyright infringement and lack of competition in the digital information industry.
