Freemail Service Puts OzEmail Into the Ring

MyMail is designed to allow users to read, reply, compose and add attachments to mail items from any browser, after they have provided their user name and password and been authenticated by their usual ISP or corporate server. The MyMail server is offered as a turnkey solution and all common software licenses and basic customisation is included in the product.
According to OzEmail CEO Sean Howard, this latest e-mail package is designed "to fill a void in existing services where users need to have access to their standard PC and dedicated software to check their personal e-mail account." Howard made no bones about OzEmail's intentions with MyMail.
While it is pushing into the Hotmail's and Yahoo!'s territory, MyMail does not require a new address, Howard was keen to note. The user reaches their mail through the corporate server so there is no trail left on the browser, offering relatively private remote access.
Ownership of the technology behind My Mail is held by OzEmail and Sydney-based freemail provider Start. It is a wholly Australian owned and developed service.
