Pagoo Launches Internet Phone Service

Pagoo, an Internet phone company, Monday unveiled a comprehensive phone service for PC users.
With the Pagoo Internet Phone Number, customers can receive calls directly from any phone worldwide and talk live while online as well as make online calls to any U.S.-based location. Additionally, the service includes voice mail, Caller ID and call forwarding to any designated phone number.
Users have the capabilities of managing their accounts online from a personal Web page, accessing real-time billing information and updating their services online. An additional feature allows customers worldwide to call one another from their Pagoo phones free of charge.
During the product's the preview release period, services are available free of charge. Pricing will be announced later this year, and is expected to be a low, flat monthly rate for unlimited usage, according to John "Joc" Jacquay, chief executive officer of Pagoo.
Additional services, including enhanced voicemail, enhanced account management, Pagoo-to-Pagoo calling, conference calling and international calling are expected to become available in fall 2000.
Pagoo is a Cisco-powered network, and its Internet phone service, built around the Trident architecture, is interoperable with the NetCentrex platform and compatible with other Cisco-based VoIP networks.
