Global Chip Sales Continue Rebound

May brought more good news for the chip sector, which continued to post sharp increases over the low points of the economic downturn, according to the Semiconductor Industry Association.

Global sales in May registered a 47.6 increase over the same month in 2009, putting the market on pace for a 28 percent sequential jump in sales for the whole year. Hardware Central takes a look.

The numbers are a good indicator of economic recovery because May is traditionally a slow period for product sales compared to the rest of the year.
