[Toronto, CANADA] - Mobile Computing Corp.(MCC) and Psion Enterprise Computing Ltd plan to jointly enable the MCC Wireless Router for use with mobile handheld computers using the Symbian operating system. This is to allow Psion handheld product offerings to use the functionality of the MCC Wireless IP Router.
"This is a significant move as MCC will not only have a product that will support Psion products but also potentially the broader range of mobile products that are soon to be launched by other Symbian licensees into the market place," said David Cunningham, president and chief executive officer of MCC.
"This solution is especially important and relevant to the North American market place where our customers have a need to deliver mobile solutions across a range of different network technologies to their mobile workforce. Companies who operate their businesses across a wide network coverage need the ability to recognize where a user is and what network is to be used to communicate with them," said George Grey, president of Psion Inc in Boston, MA.
MCC and Psion will jointly market their offerings as part of the marketing agreement between the two companies.
