Is In-Memory Analytics the Future of Microsoft BI?

Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) may soon be joining the growing ranks of vendors who see in-memory analytics as the future of business intelligence, according to Panorama Software, a company that has worked with the software giant on its BI efforts for much of the last two decades. Panorama's OLAP technology was integrated in SQL Server n 1996.

The company's PowerPivot Technology may be aimed at small BI jobs currently, but it will grow much bigger, according to Panorama CEO Eynav Azarya, who added that "The in-memory approach is the future for Microsoft."
