WASHINGTON, Aug 24 (Reuters) - America Online Inc. outlined specifics of how it plans to structure agreements with content providers for its interactive television platform in a letter made available on Thursday to federal regulators who are considering AOL's combination with Time Warner Inc.

The world's biggest Internet services provider said it is now beginning to enter agreements with video programming networks for creating interactive content for its AOLTV platform but cautioned that the economic relationships will likely evolve.

The agreements will allow for cross-marketing and promotion but could have some limitations attached, Steven Teplitz, senior director of telecommunications policy for AOL, said in the letter to the FCC.

Still, "AOLTV interactive content partners may provide advertisements, links, tools and services from any company or individual on their generally available Web sites, and an AOLTV subscriber can access this content through AOLTV's Web browser at any time," he said.

The FCC is evaluating whether AOL's proposed acquisition of Time Warner, a deal now worth about $116 billion, would be in the public interest and held meetings recently with AOL officials to learn more about the fledgling product.

Video programmers will be able to offer both its video and associated interactive content over the AOLTV platform "even if it chooses not to partner or enter into any agreement with AOL," he said in an Aug. 22 letter to the FCC.

However, Teplitz said providers that do partner with AOL to provide interactive content that is customised and developed for AOLTV would be subject to certain conditions and standards.
