FastFocus Goes Full Speed Ahead

FastFocus, a provider of e-commerce solutions recently signed a software license agreement for the use of their Decision System software with Sharp Microelectronics of America.

According to Dan Mintz, vice president of marketing and business development at FastFocus, Sharp spent over eight months researching software solutions for their Web-based parts database before it decided to go ahead with FastFocus' product.

The Decision System software provides sharp with a simple way for numerous product managers to easily capture and post their product information. Thus, product managers who may have limited HTML and database experience can now effectively contribute to the overall online effort.

"Many of us are just mere mortals and we don't have HTML or database skills," says Robert Bernardi, vice president of marketing communications for Sharp of America. "There's no way we're going to make everybody a webmaster out there."

FastFocus' software was created through the development of the founders' own proprietary site for adventure travel.

"We developed the entire system that Sharp is now using to power our site," explains Mintz. "It was our proof of concept and once we actually launched that, we productized the whole system behind it."

The company sees Sharp's investment as an extremely important partnership. According to Mintz, this large deal with a globally recognized company will provide FastFocus with the leverage that opens the door to all other Sharp divisions worldwide, as well as establishing recognition of their software.
