SAP Joins Telstra, PricewaterhouseCoopers ASP Alliance

[Sydney, AUSTRALIA] Telstra has formed an agreement with SAP, allowing it to provide SAP's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) services in Australia and New Zealand. The agreement follows the formalization of Telstra's non-exclusive Application Service Provider (ASP) alliance with global strategic business managment consultancy PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Telstra emerging business executive director, Gerry Sutton, believed "the formalization of the ASP alliance is a key milestone in Telstra's endeavors to market high pedigree ASP solutions."

"SAP has recognized the compelling value proposition that Telstra and PricewaterhouseCoopers present to the market and its involvement is evidence of that."

David Bostock of PricewaterhouseCoopers claimed that the alliance would add legitimacy to the ASP market, which is yet to really take off in Australia. "The ability of Telstra and PricewaterhouseCoopers to provide tailored ASP solutions to meet specific client needs for ERP/CRM (Customer Relationship Management) will be hard to match," he said.

The alliance will utilize Telstra's data centers and communications infrastructure combined with PricewaterhouseCoopers' consultancy and integration services.
