Namezero, Tribal Voice Team

Tribal Voice and Namezero.com have joined forces to expand the concept of instant messaging.

Tribal Voice and Namezero.com, which provides free domain names and e-mail are creating a domain-name based version of Tribal Voice's PowWow IM service.

The service will allow Namezero members to form lists that notify them when their friends are online, send text and voice instant messages, play multi-user games and participate in full duplex voice chats.

Additionally, users will be able to browse the Web together, viewing the same Web pages that are tracked during the course of an online messaging session.

"Now powerful instant messaging services can be aggregated and linked to a simple, universally accessible domain name," said Bruce Keiser, president and chief operating officer of Namezero. "PowWow's ease-of-use empowers Namezero users with the most comprehensive online communication tools to enhance their Internet experience."

"Building the PowWow service into Namezero's feature rich domain-name based service is an important step in the evolution of the Internet," said Ross Bagully, Tribal Voice chief executive office.

"With over 1 billion instant messages sent daily, PowWow Instant Messenger will increase the value proposition of Namezero members' Web sites, enhancing the overall user experience and extending Namezero's market position as a leading provider of free and low cost domain name based Internet services," he said.
