Sanity to Provide CDs to Telstra WAP Service

[Sydney, AUSTRALIA] Consumers will now have the ability to purchase CDs over their mobile phones under a deal between music retailer sanity.com and telecommunications carrier Telstra.

Consumers with Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) enabled mobile phones will be able to browse, search, navigate and purchase music from over 200,000 artists and 400,000 albums anywhere at anytime.

Purchases can be made by pre-registered customers using a credit card over a WAP phone, by faxing credit card details, calling the center or using a check or money order, all of which can be tracked on the Sanity Web site.

Telstra general manager wireless multimedia programs Greg van Mourik said Telstra was committed to providing customers with a wide choice of telstra.com Web mode applications.

The e-tailing solution has been developed by AgentArts, a TiNSHED sponsored Internet technology company which will build on its proprietary navigation and personalization Web product AgentMusic.

"Current wireless devices deliver limited navigation so users will value tools that help them sift through larges volumes of content, especially music," said AgentArts chief technology officer Benjamin Hosken.
