Betach Systems Joins JAWS

[Toronto, CANADA] JAWS Technologies Inc., a provider of secure information management solutions, acquired Betach Systems Inc. and Betach Advanced Solutions Inc. to strengthen its position in the US $7.1 billion information security market.

Betach Systems and Betach Solutions are privately held e-business solutions providers with expertise in security and networking, e-commerce, and knowledge management.

The Betach acquisition, with the purchases of 4COMM.COM Inc. and General Network Solutions Inc. announced last week, are part of the growth strategy JAWS is pursuing to strengthen its position as a leader in information and network security solutions, according to Robert Kubbernus, president and chief executive officer of JAWS. He added, "This will give JAWS a strong competitive advantage in a market expected to grow from US $7.1 billion to $17 billion by 2003 according to Bear Sterns and Aberdeen Group."

Founded in 1998, Betach focuses on medium to large-sized organizations that want to use the Internet to solve business problems. It has offices in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton.

JAWS Technologies offers security software products, consulting services and secure Internet and remote data storage services for key client groups including governments, cyber crime and forensics, healthcare, financial services, e-commerce, and telecom suppliers.
