"As Canada's largest provider of office supplies, services and solutions for the small business and home office customer, Business Depot is an ideal partner for Look," said David Parkes, president and chief executive officer of Look Communications.
"The small to medium-sized business market is an area where Look is focusing a considerable amount of energy, developing innovative services that offer superior alternatives for Internet access."
As part of the deal, Look will provide one free month of unlimited Internet dial-up access with the purchase of select modem and computer models at the Business Depot stores.
"Most consumers purchase an Internet start-up kit when they purchase a computer. This partnership with Look simply makes the process easier by including the kit with selected computer and modem purchases," said Craig Taylor, director of Merchandising-Technology at Business Depot.
"We chose Look because of the quality of their product, the national availability of their Internet service, and their commitment to customer service. Also, with Look's wide range of Internet services, from dial-up to high speed plans, consumers have a choice of products should they decide to upgrade in the future."
Look Communications is a wireless broadband carrier, delivering a full spectrum of communications services including digital television distribution, high speed Internet access, and Web-related services.
Business Depot was founded in Toronto in 1991. It is Canada's largest supplier of office supplies, business machines, office furniture and business services for the small business and home office customer.
