Developed in partnership with Industry Canada's SkillNet.ca, the site offers work search assistance to students, graduates and professionals in the cultural sector, and links Canadian employers to skilled job seekers.
"This collaboration shows how we can use the information highway to help improve employment and recruitment for Canadians. It is also an excellent example of the Government of Canada's commitment to help make Canada the most connected nation in the world," said Industry Minister John Manley.
Culture is one of the fastest growing occupational groups in Canada. From 1981 to 1991, the cultural labor force grew by 32 percent, more than double the growth of the labor force as a whole. Through the Talent Gallery, CHRC and Industry Canada are working to address the increasing demand for cultural workers in Canada.
The site is one of several SkillNet.ca initiatives, which bring together job seekers and employers from disciplines, including health, tourism, education, aviation, and volunteering.
