Insight Development Corp. announced Hot Off The Web, a product that allows users to capture a Web page, add comments, then e-mail, fax, print, or save the annotated page.
Hot Off The Web attaches each page as a self-extracting ZIP (.exe) file to the user's email program. To view it at the receiving end requires just a single click. This operation displays the attachment in Hot Off The Web (if the user has it installed) or in the default browser.
Thea Grigsby, president of Insight Development Corporation, said: "Until now, you've had to deal with the drudgery of printing out Web pages, marking them up by hand and then faxing them. Or you've sent the URL to a friend or colleague with a detailed explanation to point them to the interesting part of the Web site. With Hot Off The Web, you can make your point directly on the web page with text and graphics, then send the marked-up pages. Hot Off The Web is easy - just pluck, personalize and pass it on!"
Features of Hot Off The Web include: Digital Stickers--300+ pieces of clip art arranged according to theme; Cyber Notes--virtual notes "to personalize the user's web discovery"; Imported Graphics--to use instead of the Stickers or Cyber Notes; a Graffiti Pen--for adding hand-written comments; and a Scrapbook feature--which lets the user assemble a collection of items into a single digest.
