Software Publishing Ships Harvard Publisher

Software Publishing Corporation Holdings is now shipping Harvard Publisher, a desktop publishing solution that aims to provide the facilities of a high-end DTP application while retaining the ease of use of consumer-oriented products.

The package is a significant extension to the well-known Harvard range which includes Harvard Graphics 98.

Harvard Publisher's design wizards add agility and speed to the creation of professional-looking brochures, newsletters, pamphlets, holiday cards and calendars. Other wizards look after table-of-contents, headers and footers, and comprehensive indexes. There is also a Web site wizard, complete with animated GIFs and scrolling marquees. Augmenting the wizard approach is an efficient help system to guide the user through each design process.

With Harvard Publisher comes a collection of 120,000 clip art images, photos and true type fonts. Both the clip art and the gallery photos are formatted as vector files for improved image integrity at any size.

"SPCH believes that many small business, corporate and home users desire an affordable program that facilitates easy and fast creation of superb, professional-looking publications and Web publishing," said Mark Leininger, president and COO of Software Publishing Corporation Holdings.

"With an aggressive net price of $49.95 (after a $20 rebate), and professional print processing, web publishing and other exceptional Wizard-driven capabilities, Harvard Publisher can provide users with a highly desirable alternative to many of the market's current DTP offerings."

Harvard Publisher runs on Windows 95, 98 and NT 4.0. It runs best on a Pentium machine with an SVGA display at high-color setting, although it will also operate on a 486 PC with just 8MB of memory.
