WebCom's WebCommerce Aimed at Small Entrepreneurs

WebCom introduced WebCommerce, a turnkey Internet commerce package aimed at small entrepreneurs.

The Web hosting firm enters this highly competitive market by teaming with neighboring developer Lutris Technologies, and will offer a 30-day free trial of the new software. WebCommerce is browser-based and does not need to be downloaded.

The turnkey package brings all the necessary e-commerce features together, including order processing and store management, into an integrated package with e-mail and Web hosting services. WebCommerce uses the CyberCash method of real-time credit card processing, which is offered for an additional monthly fee of $9.95.

"WebCommerce is designed to be easy, quick and efficient so clients can get their 'stores' up and running with no wasted time," said Chris Schefler, WebCom president and co-founder. "Our customizable store templates, automatic store builder and excellent personal technical support make it easy for small business entrepreneurs to build outstanding Internet retail Web stores."

WebCom offers WebCommerce at two service levels--WebCommerce Plus at $79.95 and WebCommerce Pro at $99.95 per month. Both include templates, shopping cart and checkout stand features, a catalog/store builder and the merchants' own "back office" area for the management of the product database, shipping, tax and payment methods.
