Bookfortravel to Leverage TravellersMall Technology

[Calgary, CANADA] Bookfortravel.com, a travel management company, has adopted TravellersMall.com's Web-based e-commerce reservation and order processing platform called RezWizard.

The product will assist Bookfortravel.com in the selling of its inventory of property and vacation packages directly from its Web site and through other Internet channels.

The technology allows industry suppliers to process real-time online transactions with consumers using their Bookfortravel.com Web site.

Bookfortravel intends to initially use the system in conjunction with its weekly television travel segments and at its resort property, the Crown Beach to allow viewers to book directly online. It will then expand the system to include hundreds of its properties.

"The progress and interest by vendors to use this technology and develop the sales channel is very positive," said Peter Barker, president and chief executive officer of TravellersMall.com.

Bookfortravel.com's television segment reaches approximately 350,000 viewers weekly in the Greater Vancouver area and over 800,000 viewers in the Ontario marketplace. Its Web site receives up to 200,000 hits a month from its Vancouver program alone.

But previously, while customers could review travel features on the Web site, they could make an actual transaction only by e-mail, visiting the retail locations, or by telephone.

The RezWizard will allow Bookfortravel to process these inquires into instant sales and confirmations.

TravellersMall is a Calgary-based Internet Applications Service Provider for the tourism industry. Its RezWizard product enables tourism vendors to sell their products directly to consumers and travel agents alike through real-time, online transactions and allows tourism vendors to house and manage their inventory on the Internet.

The end result is an easily adopted turn-key online reservation system and e-business solution that allows tourism vendors to use the Internet as a new, low cost distribution channel.
