[Sydney, AUSTRALIA] Perth-based online community content and ISP WiredCity has signed a memorandum of understanding with broadband player Quadtel for the provision of ADSL networking equipment.Quadtel will provide broadband products and services to aid in the expansion of WiredCity's data center and the ADSL broadband network services rollout. The agreement will see Quadtel provide WiredCity, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ASX-listed Gippsland Ltd, with 'preferred customer' status and access to their e-commerce system in order to manage customer premises equipment (CPE) delivery and installation. In return for the addition of ADSL-based broadband services to its existing narrowband Internet services, WiredCity has provided 'preferred supplier' status to Quadtel. The two companies will also jointly develop a marketing program aimed at increasing the level of mutual customer awareness and purchase of ADSL and broadband products. WiredCity said it now expects to be in a better position to take advantage of ADSL technology and "offer it to all sections of the community, through our Internet access products and IDC services," said WiredCity CEO Chris Farquhar. WiredCity was created in WA with a formula intended to be transposable to all Australian states, and overseas. 'Your WiredCity', while providing global access, creates an online community through the focus on Western Australia's individuality: each suburb, each interest group, business and user.
