[Sydney, AUSTRALIA] Macquarie Corporate Telecommunications has launched a corporate DSL service offering both ADSL and HDSL.
Macquarie CEO, David Tudehope, said the Australian corporate market was yet to realize the full business benefits of DSL. "Up until now the Australian DSL market offering has been primarily directed to the home Internet user, residential customers, telecommuters and small businesses due to high downstream and low upstream configurations of service," he said.
Macquarie plans to differentiate its offering through stringent service level agreements and greater upload bandwidth. "Corporates have very different requirements to the small business and residential user. With large volumes of mission critical data, corporates require fast transmission rates both to and from users. One-way bandwidth is not enough," said Mr Tudehope.
Macquarie plans to tailor the service to the needs of medium and large businesses and has been trialing its DSL services with several beta customers, using DSL for its own business for more than six months.
