[Montreal, CANADA] General Trust of Canada has selected Watch4me to develop, implement, and host its transactional Web site for specialized mutual funds. The agreement has an initial term of four years.
The new site will offer a range of electronic services to corporate clients and members of organizations whose financial portfolios are managed by General Trust.
The services will be rolled out in February 2001 to members of the Ordre des ingenieurs du Quebec who participate in the FERIQUE fund.
Established 25 years ago, the FERIQUE funds have over 20,000 participants and assets totalling nearly $750 million.
"The particular approach and technology of Watch4me will allow us to extend our reach and increase the efficiency of the services offered to our professional customer base," said Pierre Desjardins, chairman of the board of Gestion FERIQUE and General Trust of Canada president.
"We plan to offer the service to other organizations and professional associations. We are in a position to offer secure access to customers financial information wherever they are. More importantly, we are putting at their disposal a proactive vehicle for permanent and timely communication that is tailored to their preferences."
General Trust of Canada, a wholly-owned subsidiary of National Bank of Canada, has 40 billion dollars worth in managed assets and can access business centers located in all major Canadian cities.
