Screamingly Different Entertainment Inc. and Spiderdance entered an agreement today to combine creative talent and technology resources for the delivery of interactive television shows to the entertainment industry.

Screamingly Different Entertainment's interactive content services range from television, broadband, wireless, and the web. According to a company official, the company is one of a select group of application producers in the process of developing one-screen interactive entertainment content. Currently, many interactive television applications function on a two-screen basis for maximum access to television viewers and PC users.

Spiderdance's infrastructure and synchronization of online content with on-air broadcasts will enhance Screamingly Different Entertainment's content for companies such as Microsoft TV, Liberate, AOLTV, Turner Broadcasting, Kobalt Interactive, Texas Instruments, Lightbulb, and Scripps Networks.

The two-screen infrastructure Spiderdance brings to the partnership and Screamingly Different's ability to construct new ways of storytelling are expected to result in state-of-the-art interactive television projects. The Spiderdance system can be deployed for personal computers, wireless devices, set-top boxes, or any other device that supports Internet socket connections.

Screamingly Different Entertainment Chairman and CEO Marlin Davis explained that his company's passion is to work directly with producers to develop interactive content from the inception of the product, rather than just to enhance existing entertainment products with interactive capabilities.

"We are just beginning to work at the pilot level of shows designing interactivity from the ground up," said Davis. "As part of the content community and through our relationship with Spiderdance, we are helping bridge the gap between technology and storytelling, because at the end of the day, it is about the story, not the technology. Our philosophy is that the technology really does not matter."

Davis added that the interactive entertainment industry is booming and that consumers are buying set-top boxes in record numbers.

Screamingly Different is a privately held company with headquarters in Los Angeles. The company's digital production studio is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
