"Organizational Inauguration" of Hebrew University of Jerusalem's's Center of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology

University President Magidor announces $40 million campaign for cross-disciplinary center

Hebrew University of Jerusalem has announced a campaign to raise the capital for a new Center of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. The $40 million center, which is to be part of the Faculty of Science, will be a cross-disciplinary activity with participating scientists from physics, chemistry, engineering and life sciences.

The physical building is in the design process now, according to Hebrew University President Menachem Magidor. This week's announcement was termed "the organizational inauguration" of Hebrew University's new Center of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. In six months, the University will open the first physical facility of the new nanotech effort, which will be the Center for Microcharacterization and Electron Microscopy.

Ben Gurion University, Tel Aviv University and the Technion have also recently announced major investments in nanoscience and nanotechnology. .
