CCC Network Opens Taipei Office, Secures Taiwan Contract

SINGAPORE -- U.S.-headquartered CCC Network Systems, a provider of enterprise-class switching technology for managing servers and network devices in Internet and corporate data centers, has officially opened its Taipei office - its fourth in Asia.

"Since we began doing business in Asia Pacific, CCC Network Systems has seen continuous growth in the region's information technology sector. Last year, we launched our flagship product, Freevision server management system, across Asia Pacific to an overwhelmingly receptive market," said Teresa Chow, director of Marketing and Communications for Asia Pacific.

"Our technology footprint now spans Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia. In particular, the recent deregulation of the telecommunications sector in Taiwan has helped drive significant growth in the Internet data center market space."

CCC Network Systems' other Asian offices can be found in Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo. It has an R&D facility in the U.K., and employs more than 300 people globally. CCC solutions are installed in Web-hosting, co-location ASPs and ISPs including Exodus, Digex, Cable and Wireless, PeopleSoft, Microsoft and Data One, as well as in corporate data centres such as Credit Suisse First Boston, VISA and Standard Chartered Bank.

Its FreeVision server management system enables Internet and corporate data centers, Web hosting and co-location service providers, and organizations that have geographically dispersed server farms to centrally link and manage data centers and network operation centers (NOCs) in real time. Company officials claim FreeVision enables the management of up to 64,000 servers with a single keystroke at any time, anywhere.

And it is for the FreeVision solution that Taiwan-based Acer CyberCenter Services, Inc., an affiliate of the Acer Group, has partnered with CCC Network Systems. Established in May last year, Acer CyberCenter Services' Internet data center services target Greater China's IT infrastructure hosting market.

Added Richard Cooke, regional director of CCC Network Systems in Asia Pacific, "The Taipei office opening also coincides with our first contract win in Taiwan for the Freevision server management system from Acer CyberCenter Services, Inc., and marks a significant milestone in our business growth in Taiwan.

"We are also delighted to have Alex Chen join us as director, Business Development in Taiwan. Alex will be responsible for formulating CCC's plans for growth in this key market and identifying new business opportunities. Prior to joining CCC, Alex has worked at Ericsson and Nokia in Taiwan."
