iBEAM's distribution model utilizes a hybrid satellite and fiber network to stream media to the edges of the Internet which will broadcast NetRadio.com's 120 music channels with less congestion and delays sometimes associated with streaming media.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"We are continuing to take advantage of the best technology available to distribute our audio content to our listeners," said Ed Tomechko, chief executive officer of NetRadio.com. "We are excited to add advanced broadcast distribution capabilities to our platform. Our customers will benefit from the high-fidelity sound delivered by the iBEAM Network which has amply proven its robust delivery methods through prior content events."
"Our contract with NetRadio.com reinforces iBEAM as a leading Internet broadcaster of streaming media and demonstrates our strong commitment to serve the Internet radio market," Peter B. Desnoes, president and CEO of iBEAM said.
"NetRadio.com would not have chosen to partner with
us if they weren't assured we could satisfy their needs -- and their
customers' needs -= consistently. More and more, end-users are turning to the
Internet for music, and iBEAM offers the infrastructure necessary to serve a
mass audience."
