TeraGlobal Communications Corp. recently announced a new video conversion and streaming capability for its TeraMedia solution and has installed it at the Cinetech, Inc. film restoration and preservation laboratory.

The new TeraMedia capability enables the streaming of video from any standard video source, the firm said.

Cinetech's TeraMedia network is the company's primary computing, communication and collaboration solution linking administration and operations. The company intends to extend the network to selected clients for reviews, collaborative work sessions and project approvals.

"We are extending the ability of TeraMedia to stream video beyond live sources to include virtually any archived video source," said Grant Holcomb, chief technology officer of TeraGlobal. "This new capability will enable Cinetech teams to collaborate with streaming video anywhere on its TeraMedia network, on campus or wherever Cinetech deploys TeraMedia."
