Moses Lake, Wash.-based Winstation Systems Corp. Wednesday made its 1" high IDE SuperDisk drive -- utlizing LS-240 technology -- available to OEMs that have been using the former 120 Mbyte version.
The new LS-240 is a direct production line replacement for the LS-120. Winstation said its decision to replace the LS-120 reflects the markets increasing demand for its SuperDisk drive, a removable storage technology that offers compatibility with 240-Mbyte and 120-Mbyte SuperDisk diskettes in addition to standard 1.44-Mbyte diskettes.
"Winstation has seen overwhelming support for the use of SuperDisk technology in the PC, Server, Industrial and Medical industries," said Jill Colee, marketing vice president for Winstation Systems. "This has been demonstrated in the form of sales, which goes to prove that the user always needs more storage on the removable side of business."
