Certain Software Snaps Up

San Francisco-based Certain Software Tuesday agreed in principle to acquire Seattle-based, maker of online registration services for organizers of conferences, conventions and tradeshows.

"Certain Software is committed to developing a comprehensive line of meeting and event planning solutions," said James A. Pappas, Certain Software president and chief executive officer. " offers a complete online registration and planning tool that is well received in the ASP market, and will allow Certain Software to integrate Web registration with our future desktop meeting management solutions."

Under the terms of the deal,'s employees will join Certain Software with founder founder Rick Borry moving into Certain Software's chief software architect position. Certain Software expects to complete the acquisition in two weeks.
