Sandpiper Networks, Inc. Monday announced it has added support for multimedia-streaming content to the latest version of its Footprint service.
Footprint 2.0 is a subscription-based content distribution service, designed to migrate individual content to a global distribution network for fast, reliable delivery to a user's desktop.
With this latest version, the company will deliver multimedia content, based on the Real Networks Streaming Protocol (RNSP). It allows distribution of both live and archived content from audio and video sources, distributed on a streaming network.
"Footprint 2.0's support for additional content types will help our customers deliver unprecedented levels of performance and functionality to their end-users."
Footprint 2.0 is scheduled for release in June and will include other general enhancements and service features.
