CNET Inc. Thursday acquired metasearch engine SavvySearch Ltd for $22 million in cash and stock.

CNET (CNET) will add the engine across its network, and expects the new addition to increase the scope and speed of user's tech product and service searches.

SavvySearch was founded in 1998, and has its own network of three sites: SavvySearch.com, MP3meta.com, and Financemeta.com. The meta search engine combines the results of 300 Internet search engines.

Integration of SavvySearch is expected to begin in the fourth quarter.
