Netscape Communications Tuesday unveiled its redesigned online presence, Netscape Netcenter, complete with features specifically for business professionals to organize their work and personal lives.

Netcenter's updated resources include easier navigation, enhanced daily news and business programming and personalized features. Measurement firm Media Metrix recently reported that Netcenter is one of the five most visited sites from work, and as a result the company has focused the site to reflect business visitors.

The new Netcenter homepage displays a series of buttons -- chat, e-mail, personalized information and download tools -- at the top to give users easier access to the tools they need to be more productive, the company said. Netcenter also expanded its daily content offerings to provide information that is regularly updated over the course of the day, made to help users keep up-to-date with breaking news while they work.

Other new features include Netscape Search for Web tool, Top Picks for links, Today's News and Tools, which offers a host of Web navigation services.

Netscape is a subsidiary of megasite America Online Inc. (AOL). Barry Schuler, president of AOL Interactive Services, said that the new site addresses the multi-tasking needs of today's professional.

"The new Netscape seamlessly handles it all: whether it's sending an e-mail or instant message to a business colleague, scheduling family activities, or checking the latest health news," he said. "Netcenter has tremendous reach in the at-work audience, and this redesign makes our service even more valuable to business professionals."
