By John Townley October 8, 1999 The Web is beginning to look a lot like TV. First, features, now a mini-series. Following the direct-to-Web film (Adam Sandler's The Peeper) and its pre-release Webcasts of Warner Bros. feature film footage (Iron Giant, Deep Blue Sea), Warner Bros. Online is premiering an exclusive series of short comic vignettes directed by director Damon Santostefano and starring Matthew Perry, Neve Campbell and Oliver Platt, stars of the upcoming feature film, Three To Tango. In what could serve as a model for mainstream programming in the online world, and a precursor to Time Warner's upcoming entertainment hub, Entertaindom, the Three To Tango footage will only be available on the Web and will not be viewed as outtakes in the theater, nor will it be available to broadcast media outlets. "This has never been done before and we're all excited to catch each other in some really compromising moments," said Santostefano. The as-yet-unreleased footage of Perry, Campbell, Platt and other stars of the film will be featured exclusively on Warner Bros. Online and will be presented in Microsoft's Windows Media Player. Santostefano will release the web-only footage on October 14th at www.warnerbros.com. |
