FileMaker Inc. Monday released FileMaker XML Central, a resource for IT professionals and Web developers designed to provide essential documentation that details the XML support available in FileMaker Pro.
FileMaker XML Central also includes instructional examples and useful links for learning more about XML and XML formatting technologies.
XML Central's XML documentation and examples will also be included in the forthcoming FileMaker Developer 5, scheduled to ship in April. Both products equip IT professionals and Web developers to deploy an XML solution using dynamic data from their FileMaker Pro 5 database.
The addition of XML to FileMaker Developer 5 is an attempt to provide users with a more powerful, higher performing, and more customizable solution that will allow them to build custom Web interfaces and exchange data with FileMaker Pro.
In addition to the XML documentation, examples, and a full working version of FileMaker Pro 5 for Mac OS and Windows, FileMaker Developer 5 will offer a wide array of tools for FileMaker database customization; royalty-free runtime distribution; and the capability to rename FileMaker solution files and share FileMaker data using XML, JDBC, and ODBC.<
FileMaker Developer 5 will carry a suggested retail price of $499.
