Portal technology has been around for years as a way of aggregating content from disparate sources. It's a market that is now in the process of evolution as enterprise vendors begin to take a broader view of what a portal should really be about.

As DevX reports, JBoss, Red Hat's middleware division, is updating its portal platform with a focus on better usability.


Red Hat's JBoss middleware division is updating its platform this week with the release of JBoss Enterprise Portal Platform 5.0, featuring new enhancements designed to improve its ease of use.

At the same time, with its new portal platform, Red Hat is aiming to help grow both the definition and the capabilities of portal technology, it said.
