New Service to Measure Web Site Performance

Keynote Systems this week launched the latest release of its Perspective Internet performance service.

With this release the company is offering corporate Web sites a free one-week comparative performance appraisal.

The performance appraisal is designed to showcase the new features of release 1.4 of Keynote Perspective. According to Keynote Systems, the new capabilities enhance the ability of business-critical Web sites to measure, compare, and assure the Quality of Service that they provide to their customers.

The latest release of Perspective supports firewalls and proxy servers, effectively securing corporate networks from the Internet. Perspective subscribers that are inside a firewall now have the ability to retrieve and analyze the performance data that has been collected and stored in a database by Keynote's worldwide measurement network.

Additionally, Keynote Perspective analyzes and diagnoses the performance problems of Internet "on-ramps" in congested metropolitan areas and includes new alarm capabilities that automatically notify the site administrator by pager or e-mail if the Web site becomes inaccessible.

The Keynote Perspective Professional Edition service is available at the rate of $495 per month per measured URL. The Web Edition service, which uses a Java client, is available at the rate of $295 per month per measured URL.
