Interaction 2.0 to Employ Server-Side XML 1.0

Media Design in*Progress today announced the release of Interaction 2.0, the Web server companion for dynamic social Web sites that adapt to the needs of each visitor.

Interaction is the first application to utilize server-side XML 1.0 for generating dynamic Web sites. The software works in conjunction with Mac Web servers and generates HTML on the fly from XML documents that have been previously developed.

Interaction enables developers to utilize the efficiency and flexibility of extensible markup (XML) for developing Web sites. The tool features wizards that are used to create, inspect, and modify extensible markup.

Using Interaction, developers can create and use their own custom XML elements (tags) and XML entities (includes), as well as specialized XML document types.

The product generates the HTML pages as they are requested from XML documents, based on the rules defined in a style sheet (as well as the context of the request). Interaction features an integrated Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) editor, which simplifies the design and maintenance processes of the site.

Interaction 2.0 has a retail price of $795, with personal licenses available for $245. For more information, or to download an evaluation copy, visit the Interaction Web site.
