Veon to Serve SMIL Content Over RealNetworks' RealSystem G2

World Wide Web Consortium member Veon, Inc. today announced the Veon Media Activation Server for the development, delivery, and management of SMIL-based applications for RealNetworks' RealSystem G2 streaming media system.

The new server will allow Web and broadband content providers to take pre-existing media content and automatically convert it into SMIL and RealMedia formats, thereby quickly turning static content into dynamic, media-rich applications.

The integration of Veon Media Activation Server with RealSystem G2 gives developers the unique ability to create a single ActiveSMIL template that can then generate thousands of unique, media-rich presentations from existing databases.

Veon, formerly Ephyx Technologies, also provides VeonStudio, a set of tools for authoring interactive video applications, to enable developers to rapidly develop and deploy responsive applications that include video shopping, interactive entertainment, corporate training, and distance learning.
