IBM Offers Free Commercial License of XML tool for Java

IBM Corp. announced today the company will offer a free commercial license of its XML for Java parser.

The parser is designed to help developers parse, process, and create XML documents. Previously limited to a 90 day trial offer, developers can now use and incorporate IBM's XML parser in their development work. The offering will be available for download from IBM's alphaWorks Website (www.alphaWorks.ibm.com).

Already in use in a number of commercial Web applications, XML is designed to make online information "smarter"--that is, easier to find, categorize, and customize--via tags that identify certain information within a document. IBM's XML parser implements the existing XML Recommendation, in addition to the draft W3C proposals for Namespace, DOM and SAX.
