Andromedia Teams Up With Sun-Netscape Alliance

San Francisco-based Andromedia Inc., a provider of e-marketing software, and the Sun-Netscape Alliance, a provider of e-commerce solutions, agreed to develop interoperability interfaces for Netscape SellerXpert and Andromedia's ARIA and LikeMinds product lines.
ARIA analyzes high-value data in real-time and reports on customer information. LikeMinds Personalization Server personalizes each and every customer interaction, providing real-time personally relevant responses to customers' needs.
Included in the Sun-Netscape family of e-commerce applications, SellerXpert is targeted at companies seeking to deploy a complementary online sales channel. SellerXpert delivers targeted sales, customer service and business systems integration.
The goal of the partnership is to give companies the means to drive more revenue by turning online browsers into buyers, increasing the dollar amount of orders and improving customer loyalty.
"The Alliance plans to maintain its leadership by implementing an aggressive, three-tiered initiative dubbed 'Full, Speed, Ahead.' The initiative will expand our e-commerce applications business through technology partnerships that will quicken deployment of applications and improve product innovation. . .," said Daphne Carmeli, vice president of the application product division for the Sun-Netscape Alliance.
"Today's announcement launches the first tier of the initiative, and will enable the Alliance to provide customers with one-to-one marketing support, continuing our leadership position."
America Online Inc. and Sun Microsystems Inc. formed the Sun-Netscape Alliance to provide easy to deploy enterprise and e-commerce solutions to business partners and other companies. The Alliance software product portfolio includes: messaging and calendar, collaboration, Web, application, directory and certificate servers, commerce exchange, procurement, selling and billing.
