St. Paul, MN-based St. Paul Software, a provider of Internet-based, business-to-business e-commerce solutions, has been contracted by Cisco Systems to e-commerce enable its supply chain.

Cisco said the move will significantly lower its trading partner transaction, inventory and administrative costs.

Cisco Systems is utilizing SPS Commerce's Trading Partner Enablement program to e-commerce enable its trading partners via a Web-based solution for financial transactions, including invoicing, purchase order/purchase order change and payment order acknowledgement.

SPS said Cisco will be able to send and receive all payments electronically. Spending was not disclosed.

"We are pleased to assist Cisco in electronically enabling their trading partners. Together, we are capitalizing on the Internet by sending their data router to router and bypassing the Value Added Networks--ultimately maximizing their return on investment," said Steve Waldron, president and CEO of St. Paul Software.
