Name Your Last-Minute Price

Priceline wrangled itself a little more exposure, inking a deal to feature its name-your-own-price service for leisure airline tickets, hotel rooms, rental cars and other vacation offerings on LastMinuteTravel.com.

Norwalk, Conn.-based Priceline said the deal includes a listing on Last Minute Travel on AOL.

Under the agreement, customers visiting LastMinuteTravel.com will be able to check both the published last-minute offers for airlines, vacation specials, hotels and rental cars, or they can elect to use Priceline.com's services. Financial terms were not disclosed.

A redesigned LastMinuteTravel.com, which features discounted prices for airline seats and hotel rooms that are about to go begging, will be launched in June with new search and booking functionality and a broader range of travel offers organized by destination and activity, the company said.

"A significant segment of Priceline.com's business is in the last-minute travel market, so we are very excited about the synergies present in this alliance with LastMinuteTravel," said Brett Keller, chief marketing officer of Priceline.

"By partnering with Priceline.com, LastMinuteTravel will be able to offer our customers a full range of last-minute travel bargains to meet all their travel needs," said Alan Greenberg, chairman and CEO of Atlanta-based The LastMinuteTravel Network.

The LastMinuteTravel.com service launched for consumers in January 2000 and is aimed at the estimated one-third of online-travel consumers who plan trips within two weeks of departure and the one-in-five online consumers who plan trips within one week of departure.
