Stamps.com Provides Postage to Office Users

Online postage company Stamps.com Inc. Monday partnered with Microsoft Corp. to deliver stamps to Office users.

With the agreement, Microsoft Office users can use applications such as Word and Outlook to print US Post Office-approved postage from ordinary printers. The service requires no hardware, no set-up fees and no special connections. The postage is downloaded through Microsoft's Office Update Web site.

For a monthly fee, Stamps.com provides a variety of both personal and corporate postage services, ranging from first class to certified and express mail.

"This partnership is a major step forward in our company's continued growth as the leader in the delivery of postage over the Internet," said John Payne, president and CEO of Stamps.com.

"Together with Microsoft, we will offer millions of Office users the fastest, simplest and most secure service for buying and printing postage from their printers."

Stamps.com also said that it expects to roll out its service nationwide on Sept. 27.
