Hertzfurniture.com to Use 3Dshopping Technology

3Dshopping.com said that its 3Dshopping System technology will be used at the e-store of Hertz Furniture Systems, a manufacturer and supplier of office, school and church furniture.

Furniture shoppers "will be able to experience the closest thing online to being in the showroom," Hertz said.

Financial arrangements between the companies were not disclosed.

The site will feature full-angle rotational viewing of furniture styles and colors. In addition, the proprietary rollover feature will allow customers to zoom in on surfaces, textures and other details.

"The 3Dshopping System allows customers to virtually touch our products and view details right down to the grain of the wood," said Mark Wagner, president of Hertz Furniture.

"Apart from actually visiting our showrooms, we have not found any other Web technology that comes close to offering these benefits."

The 3Dshopping System content is created through proprietary digital photography and programming techniques that, together, produce a fluid full-range rotational view of selected products.

It does not require special software or plug-ins. 3Dshopping.com, formerly Pi Graphix Inc., was launched in 1996 and markets its e-commerce solutions to provide fashion retailers and companies with electronic catalogs.
