Affinia, Homestead Team Up

Shopping service provider Affinia has partnered with Homestead.com, an online resource for building free Web sites, to deliver Affinia's e-commerce service to millions of Homestead Web sites.

The free service will allow any Homestead user to make money by choosing and selling products in their own online store. Using the Storefront Element, users can select retail products from over 1,000 top online stores. Financial arrangements between the companies were not disclosed.

"Our new partnership with Affinia will enable Homestead users to take full advantage of the online shopping boom this holiday season," said Justin Kitch, founder and CEO of Homestead.

"Now Homestead users can select Storefronts full of items that their friends, families and colleagues will want to buy -- then the user will earn commissions."

"Our mission is to turn millions of small Web sites into millions of unique retailing environments," said Kris Hagerman, CEO and founder of Affinia.

Each instant shopping portal is unique, with products, brands, merchants, and look-and-feel chosen by the Web site owner.

Affinia has raised over $15 million in venture funding from investors including Sequoia Capital, Oracle Corp., Bowman Capital, Fayez Sarofim & Co.
