Eyecity.com to Market Yahoo! Eyewear

Eyecity.com Inc. signed an agreement with Yahoo! Inc. to obtain a license that will allow Eyecity.com to market a Yahoo!-branded eyewear collection.

Eyecity.com said it expects the Yahoo! brand recognition to be a major asset for eyecity.com in the optical market.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

The Yahoo! eyewear collection will include computer glasses, reading glasses, sunglasses, optical frames and related accessories. The Yahoo! collection was recently previewed at the International Vision Expo in Las Vegas.

In addition to being available through traditional retail channels, the Yahoo! eyewear product line also will be available through the eyecity.com Web Site and the Yahoo! online store, Yahoo! Gear.

"Yahoo!'s longstanding expertise in e-commerce combined with eyecity.com's eyewear industry knowledge will give consumers the best of products and superior customer service," said eyecity.com CEO Mark Levin.

EyeCity.com said it obtained the Yahoo! license agreement and product line collection in conjunction with certain assets of Impact Eyewear LLC.

eyecity.com Inc. has a family of Web sites catering to the optical and eye care needs of a broad range of lifestyles and interests.

Recent acquisitions include Peepers.com, Eyeglassplace.com, Sunglasssite.com, Opticalsite.com, and Binoculars.com.
