AOL, eHobbies Ink Shopping Agreement

America Online, Inc. Friday agreed to grant online hobby destination eHobbies.com placement in the Shop@AOL marketplace.

Under the agreement, eHobbies will be a new tenant in the Arts, Antiques & Hobbies department of the Art & Collectibles Commerce Center and in the Toys department in the Kids, Toys and Babies Commerce Center.

In addition, eHobbies will receive additional promotion in areas across several AOL (AOL) brands, including America Online, AOL.COM, Netscape and CompuServe, as well as other promotional and opportunities in the holiday and special occasion gift guides.

"We created eHobbies to provide a home for the more than 100 million avid hobbyists across the country and also to create a new generation of enthusiasts," said Brad Sobel, CEO, eHobbies. "Through our ability to reach AOL's 19 million members, eHobbies takes a giant leap forward in introducing Internet users around the world to the value and importance of hobbies."

eHobbies hosts more than 5,300 products in key categories, including model trains; radio controlled cars, boats, helicopters and airplanes; diecast collectibles; models; rocketry; plus tools and supplies.

The site offers one-stop shopping, content such as "Hobby Basics" articles to help beginners as well as tips from hobby experts to teach avid hobbyists more about their craft.
