Baltimore Technologies to Upgrade UniCERT

Baltimore Technologies, a developer of security and encryption systems, released details of the forthcoming release 2.2 of its UniCERT Certification Authority (CA) system.

UniCERT provides comprehensive support for the issuance and management of X.509 digital certificates. Its modular, scaleable design allows separate deployment of CA, RA, and operator functions across any network.

Release 2.2 further adds to the functionality that allows UniCERT to be deployed as a private intranet, public Internet or hybrid extranet CA system. Pricing details were not disclosed.

Features will include: Administrator definable certificate extensions; Remote Registration Operators; Automatic Registration Authority Enrollment system; Automatic Certificate Expiry Notification and CA certificate rollover; Enhanced Policy and PKI graphical editors; and enhanced hardware support.

Dublin, Ireland-based Baltimore Technologies products include solutions for secure e-mail and Web e-commerce. The company also provides a range of C and Java cryptography libraries and supplies design and consulting services to the IT security industry.
